Summary of Results:

Dark circle reduction

A gel containing 1.5% Aevum Vita 621 was found to improve the appearance of dark circles in 60 % of volunteers.

1.5 % Aevum Vita 621 gel tested over 56 days, by 10 volunteers both male and female aged between 18 and 60 years. The gel was applied once per day on the eye contour by the volunteers, all of whom were judged to have ‘marked’ or ‘moderate’ dark circles at the start of the trial.

Redness Reduction

During the above mentioned trial, a decrease of the variable skin redness was observed amongst the volunteers.

The under eye gel was prepared using 1.5% Aevum Vita 621 in combination with a rheological additive (Aevum Vita 525). The aqueous gel was preserved with potassium sorbate, and pH adjusted using sodium hydroxide.

Formulation 2

Our formulation has passed an EP Challenge test (Report No. 23139). Aevum Vita 621, as an active ingredient, offers both a sensory boost through its humectant properties and proven compatibility with microbiome-conscious formulations.

This formulation underwent independent third-party testing in a balance test—an in-vitro method that evaluates its impact on bacterial equilibrium.

To be considered microbiome-friendly, a formulation must maintain the balance of skin bacteria without disruption.

Testing revealed that the formulation does not significantly alter the balance of the skin bacteria. The full report can be found here.
